Returning to the Business Design Centre in Islington from 21–25 January 2026, the London Art Fair is an important fixture in the UK’s cultural calendar.
Long regarded as the event that sets the tone for the year ahead, the fair once again brings together leading British and international galleries to present a rich mix of Modern and Contemporary art.
The London Art Fair 2026 places particular emphasis on discovery and experimentation. Alongside works by established, internationally recognised artists, visitors can expect to encounter new voices, innovative approaches to materials and fresh perspectives from across the global art scene. Painting, sculpture and photography sit side by side, creating a varied and engaging experience for collectors, curators and art lovers alike.
A notable feature of the 2026 London Art Fair is the involvement of the National Trust as Museum Partner. Drawing on works from modernist houses such as 2 Willow Road and The Homewood, the presentation explores Surrealist and post-war abstract art within the context of modernist architecture. This dialogue between art and space adds an extra layer of depth, linking historical creativity with contemporary interpretation.
Curated sections remain central to the fair’s identity. Platform, guided this year by Dr Ferren Gipson under the theme “The Unexpected,” shines a spotlight on artists who challenge traditional ideas of material and process. Elsewhere, Encounters focuses on “radical care,” bringing together international galleries whose artists explore power, memory and identity, often through queer and socially engaged lenses.
With more than 120 galleries taking part, the London Art Fair continues to offer an appealing balance between familiarity and surprise. Well-known names are shown alongside emerging talent from the UK and abroad, including galleries from Europe, Asia and the Americas. This diversity makes the fair a trusted environment for seasoned collectors while remaining accessible and inspiring for those beginning their collecting journey. As ever, the London Art Fair 2026 reinforces its role as a thoughtful, forward-looking event, opening the art world’s year with confidence, curiosity and a strong sense of contemporary relevance.
A number of regular Art Fair visitors use the opportunity to dine at Luce e Limoni, one of the best renowned Italian restaurants in central London, and just one mile from the Business Design Centre.
