Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) is the UK’s leading independent design festival, attracting over 35,000 visitors annually. Celebrating its 14th edition, CDW transforms Clerkenwell – home to more creative businesses and architects per square mile than anywhere else – into a vibrant showcase of global design talent. With over 600 events across 160+ showrooms and 15 venues, the festival offers a dynamic mix of exhibitions, talks, workshops, and installations.
Visitors can explore 10 great exhibition venues, each with a unique focus, featuring over 400 brands, from established names like Hay and Muuto to emerging designers. Highlights include the British Collection, showcasing Pluck’s new kitchen range with Schotten & Hansen, and the Spanish Collection at The Charterhouse, featuring Naturtex and Viccarbe. The CDW flagship talks series, Conversations at Clerkenwell, now at The Charterhouse, features 18 sessions with designers like Sabine Marcelis and PearsonLloyd, covering topics from AI in design to biophilic spaces. Workshops offer hands-on experiences, such as candle-making or upcycling fabric into pet beds. Installations, like the Shaping Water Competition by Dezeen, Villeroy & Boch, and Ideal Standard, celebrate innovative concepts.
The Clerkenwell Design Week fringe programme and charity initiatives, like bag storage for Crisis donations, add to the festive atmosphere, whilst showroom events, including product launches and networking parties, foster industry connections. Highlights include Bolon’s outdoor rug display with Tom Dixon’s GROOVE furniture and Panaz’s colour trend talks.
